Coaches must help young people with the increasing number of questions about mental well-being in Antwerp libraries
Antwerp's libraries will introduce welfare coaches to assist youth with mental health inquiries. This initiative responds to an increasing number of questions from young visitors, indicating a need for support beyond traditional library services. Starting in January, two coaches will be available at the Permeke and Linkeroever libraries to engage with young people facing various challenges. The coaches aim to build trust and provide confidential support, addressing issues related to mental well-being, future concerns, or personal problems. The project will run throughout the year and will be evaluated in 2027, with potential expansion to other libraries.
