Coalition led by Saudi Arabia says it has intercepted missile launched by Houthis
The Saudi-led military coalition announced it intercepted a missile launched by Houthi rebels towards Riyadh, amid escalating hostilities. Military spokesperson Turki al Maliki confirmed the interception on social media, but did not provide further details. The coalition, involved in Yemen since 2015, supports the internationally recognized Yemeni government against the Houthis. Recently, missile debris has caused casualties. The Saudi Defense Ministry had issued a warning about potential danger to Riyadh, which was lifted shortly after. The Houthis, allied with Iran, have conducted numerous attacks on Saudi infrastructure, including the King Khalid International Airport, resulting in fatalities. The coalition continues its airstrikes in Yemen.
