Saudi coalition intercepts Houthi drones over Mecca
Three oil tankers were mined in the Strait of Hormuz, causing fires and leading to a rise in oil prices. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard reported the incident, which is expected to further increase oil prices due to ongoing Houthi attacks on Saudi oil infrastructure. Brent crude rose by 86 cents to $115.74, while WTI increased by 72 cents to $102.72. Additionally, a Saudi coalition intercepted a Houthi drone over Mecca, but Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree denied involvement in attacks on Saudi territory, stating their operations target oil infrastructure and military bases.
