Trains resume service on the West Line

Train services on the Oeste Line between Torres Vedras and Caldas da Rainha will resume on the 15th, following repairs from storm damage. The line was closed since January 28 due to severe weather conditions. Infrastructure works included slope stabilization and track restoration. While this section reopens, train services remain suspended between Mira Sintra/Meleças and Torres Vedras, with bus replacements in place. The storms caused significant destruction across several regions, resulting in numerous casualties and extensive damage to properties and infrastructure.
