Merchants of Lisbon's downtown available for dialogue with representatives of the camp
Merchants in Lisbon's Baixa are open to dialogue with representatives of a housing protest regarding the compatibility of a planned Christmas market with the protest at Rossio Square. Manuel Lopes, president of the Baixa Pombalina Association, expressed concerns about the coexistence of both events, emphasizing the importance of the Christmas market for local commerce. He is willing to negotiate with protest leaders to find a solution that allows both events to proceed. The Lisbon Administrative Court ruled that the protest could continue until November 2026, but it must be coordinated with the Christmas market. If coexistence is not feasible, an alternative location for the protest must be provided.
