Communities. Electronic voting tested in the CCP elections

Portuguese emigrants will vote electronically for the first time in the upcoming elections for the Council of Portuguese Communities (CCP). Secretary of State for Internal Administration, Telmo Correia, announced this initiative during a discussion on the 2027 State Budget proposal. The pilot project aims to assess risks and outcomes, involving collaboration among various ministries. This electronic voting option is expected to enhance participation from Portuguese communities abroad and may be implemented in future elections. The CCP elections are scheduled for February 2027.
