Comuns agrees with the PSC to withdraw their candidacies for the Senate in Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona
The PSC and Comuns have agreed to withdraw their Senate candidacies in Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona, focusing only on Barcelona. In exchange, the PSC will designate one senator for Comuns. This strategic move aims to counteract the influence of the Popular Party and Vox, while also impacting Esquerra. Both parties emphasize the need for progressive forces to prevent the right and far-right from gaining ground in the Senate, which they view as a blocking chamber for government initiatives. The agreement recalls the Entesa Catalana de Progrés coalition from 2000 to 2011, which included various leftist parties.
