Asian Confederation supports Infantino for new term

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has expressed its support for Gianni Infantino's re-election as FIFA president. AFC president Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa emphasized that while not all members may follow this endorsement, a majority is likely to support Infantino. The election is set for March, with candidacy submissions closing on November 18. Infantino has faced criticism in the past but has recently apologized for mistakes regarding a commercial rights plan. He acknowledged errors during his speech but promised increased funding for national federations, raising the financial support significantly from one million to 25 million dollars every four years.
