Consumption orders the removal of 8,300 irregular seasonal rental ads, mostly in Madrid
The Ministry of Consumer Affairs has ordered the removal of 8,300 irregular seasonal rental ads, primarily in Madrid, as part of its crackdown on fraudulent listings. These ads were found on two digital platforms, misrepresenting tourist accommodations as seasonal rentals to bypass stricter regulations. The ministry identified that many of these listings allowed bookings for less than 31 days, violating new legal requirements. This action follows previous investigations into real estate portals for exceeding rental limits and aims to ensure compliance with the new housing law. Companies maintaining these ads could face sanctions if they do not comply with the removal order.
