COP biodiversity: the "harmful subsidies" to nature at the center of negotiations

At the COP17 in Yerevan, discussions focused on "harmful incentives" that undermine biodiversity. The goal is to eliminate subsidies that damage nature, aiming to reduce these incentives by at least $500 billion annually by 2030. The Armenian presidency launched three mechanisms to hold countries accountable and support necessary reforms.
