Energy crisis: eleven EU countries will release 42.6 million barrels of oil to stabilize diesel prices before winter

Eleven EU countries will release 42.6 million barrels of oil from strategic reserves to stabilize diesel markets ahead of winter. This decision follows a G7 commitment to reduce energy prices amid rising costs due to the Iran conflict. The European Commissioner for Energy, Dan Jorgensen, emphasized the importance of addressing the financial burden on citizens, although he reassured that supply security is not a concern. The participating countries include Germany, France, Greece, Denmark, Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal, Latvia, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Italy, with Lithuania supporting the initiative.
