Cryptoplatform Binance responds after theft: "We will bear the financial consequences, not our users"
Binance reports that 90% of stolen funds have been replenished following a cyberattack, with the company absorbing the financial impact to protect users. The theft involved $6.34 billion in cryptocurrencies, likely due to a breach of an employee's laptop. In an open letter, Binance reassured customers that they would not suffer losses, having already covered 80% of the stolen amount. The company aims for full reimbursement and plans to activate its SAFU emergency fund within 24 hours. Additionally, Binance is working on a security update and intends to resume withdrawal options for customers by Sunday.
