The meeting between Orbán Anita and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is slipping.
Anita Orbán will meet U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio later this week at the request of the American side. The meeting coincides with Rubio accompanying President Trump to Texas. The Hungarian Foreign Minister announced the meeting on Facebook but provided no further details. Although the meeting was included in the U.S. State Department's schedule, it was later omitted from the detailed agenda released on Monday. Rubio visited Budapest in February, where a nuclear cooperation agreement was signed. He expressed support for Viktor Orbán as a potential winner in the upcoming elections. Péter Magyar noted the importance of such visits for strengthening Hungarian-American relations, suggesting Rubio could also visit Budapest for the 70th anniversary of the 1956 revolution.
