Miracle in the Pacific. Five people rescued after three months of drifting

Five survivors, including two children, traveled 5,400 kilometers before reaching Fanning Island in Kiribati. They were part of a nine-member group that set out on July 30 for a short journey between the Micronesian islands of Murilo and Ruo. A sudden storm caused their boat to drift off course. After ten days of intensive searches, the coast guard suspended operations, believing the chances of finding them were slim. Last Sunday, residents of Fanning Island spotted the drifting boat with five people aboard. The survivors have not yet disclosed details of their ordeal, and the fate of the remaining four individuals is unknown. The governor of Chuuk, Alexander Narruhn, expressed gratitude for the miraculous rescue and continued prayers for the missing.
