The exercise in Uherské Hradiště highlighted a problem with warning SMS messages
A recent active shooter drill in Uherské Hradiště revealed a technical issue preventing O2 customers from receiving warning SMS messages. Firefighters, responsible for sending these alerts, acknowledged the problem and are working on a solution. A new notification system, CZ-Alert, is being developed by the Ministry of the Interior to enhance public warning capabilities. The drill also highlighted translation errors in English SMS alerts, which initially failed to mention it was a drill. Police have since corrected the translation and apologized for the oversight. The new system aims to provide faster and more reliable notifications to residents during emergencies.
