D66 council member from Boxtel – suspected of corruption and election fraud – remains in custody for fourteen more days

Sohib H., a council member from Boxtel, remains in custody for an additional fourteen days due to allegations of corruption and election fraud. The 38-year-old, who has been a member of D66 since 2018, faces multiple charges including money laundering and forgery. His detention follows an investigation initiated after his arrest in May for similar offenses. Despite being placed on leave from his position at the Public Prosecution Service, H. continued to attend council meetings. The police seized thirteen cars and various electronic devices during his arrest, leading to further suspicions. His younger brother is also implicated in the case, suspected of collaborating in money laundering activities.
