Daniel Cardoso and the “perfect” book for contemporary dance
Daniel Cardoso's choreography, Elsewhere Within Stillness, inspired by Fernando Pessoa's Book of Disquiet, opens the CNB's Desassossego show. The piece reflects contemporary dance's abstract nature, exploring internal creativity and multiplicity through symbolic elements like hats. Cardoso, recovering from a motorcycle accident, collaborated closely with dancers and emphasized the importance of lighting in creating an ethereal atmosphere. His background includes training at the Martha Graham School and founding Quorum Dance Company, which celebrates 20 years of performances and international tours. The Amadora City Council supports the company, which is building a new space for its activities.
