Data centers: on European construction sites, workers exploited in a climate of 'terror'

A Romanian electrical tester, Sandu, suffered severe injuries from an electric shock while working at a Google data center in Belgium. Despite assurances that the electrical lines were de-energized, he was struck by a 400-volt arc while performing tests. Witnesses reported that supervisors fled the scene as he lay in pain. Sandu was hospitalized and placed in a coma for five days, with 12% of his body burned. He has since undergone multiple skin grafts and continues to experience pain and anxiety.
