Trains may start from Belgrade to Budapest and Vienna on December 13.

Direct train services from Belgrade to Budapest and Vienna will commence on December 13, as announced by Ljubisa Pejicic, director of Srbijavoz. The service has been suspended for seven years due to modernization efforts funded partly by a Chinese loan. Eight daily trains will operate, with six to Budapest and two continuing to Vienna without transfers. Travel times are approximately three hours to Budapest and six to Vienna, subject to border checks. The Hungarian section has passed necessary tests for safe operation. Vitézy Dávid, Hungary's transport minister, previously indicated the international service's launch in December, emphasizing the project's significance despite its ten-year confidentiality due to a government initiative.
