US decision a disappointment for Kyiv. Ukraine will receive Patriot missiles in a few years

The estimated delivery date for Patriot PAC-3 missiles to Ukraine is set between Q4 2030 and Q4 2033. President Zelensky emphasized the urgent need for support this winter due to increased Russian missile attacks. He urged U.S. partners to expedite the delivery of available missiles instead of waiting for future contracts. The U.S. State Department approved the sale of 500 PAC-3 missiles, valued at $2.1 billion, funded by European allies. Zelensky previously indicated Ukraine would need 100 missiles monthly for winter defense. Current production rates by Lockheed Martin are insufficient to meet immediate needs, with U.S. stockpiles significantly depleted during the Iran conflict.
