Third restructuring in 2 years at Beaulieu in Oostrozebeke: 35 jobs cut

BSF Europe, also known as Orotex, is cutting 35 jobs in Oostrozebeke, marking its third restructuring in two years. The extrusion department, which produces yarn for artificial grass, is closing due to the loss of its only customer in Spain, who has opted for a cheaper factory. Union representative Renilde Rommens expressed concern over the sudden job losses, especially after employees were assured of job security last month. The company faces challenges in finding new clients amid strong competition from the Middle East and Far East. Currently, only the needle felt department remains operational, but employees are anxious about potential future layoffs. The broader manufacturing industry in Belgium is struggling, with many companies relocating due to cost pressures.
