British astronomers discover the very first green stars

Recent research by Mark Hollands and his team reveals that white dwarfs can exhibit different colors based on their surface temperatures, challenging previous understandings of stellar color classification. These stars, remnants of sun-like stars, become extremely dense and faint after exhausting their fuel. The study analyzed the spectra of hundreds of white dwarfs, indicating that their surface colors may vary beyond the traditional blue to red spectrum based on temperature.
