Detained individuals have until the 6th to decide whether to pay or be judged

Fifty-five housing protesters detained in Lisbon have until November 6 to decide whether to pay 150 euros for a suspended process or go to trial. The payment will be donated to a social solidarity institution. The protesters were arrested for disobedience after resisting police orders to dismantle their tents. If they choose trial, they could face imprisonment or fines. The protests for housing rights began on October 10 and have led to police interventions resulting in injuries and arrests. Supporters gathered at the Lisbon Justice Campus to show solidarity with the defendants.
