Two investigations, on the Taliban and on Syrian prisons, jointly awarded the Frantz di Rippel prize
Two investigative books, one about a Taliban family and the other on the Syrian concentration camp system, were awarded the Frantz di Rippel prize in Biot. The prize honors Stéphane Frantz di Rippel, a hotel manager murdered for protecting journalists. Elise Blanchard's "Dans la maison d’un taliban" offers a nuanced view of a Taliban soldier's family, while Arthur Sarradin's "Le nom des ombres" reveals harrowing accounts from former Syrian prisoners. Both authors are also finalists for the Albert Londres prize 2026. The jury selected these works from a shortlist that included other significant titles. An homage was paid to journalist Christophe Gleizes, currently detained in Algeria, during the award ceremony.
