Diamo requests the NSZ to investigate the ministry's procedure in the case of the Heřmanice dump

The state enterprise Diamo has requested the Supreme Public Prosecutor's Office to investigate the Ministry of the Environment's handling of the Hermanič dump case in Ostrava. This follows the ministry's decision to withdraw the case from the Czech Environmental Inspection and halt proceedings against a company suspected of illegal waste disposal. Diamo, which has been managing the dump since 2002, disagrees with the ministry's actions and seeks a legal review. The dump, which is currently burning and releasing harmful substances, has been under remediation for over twenty years but remains paused. The Ministry of Industry has also requested input from the fire department regarding the situation at the dump, with a report expected by the end of the year.
