Service centers in Ghent receive dementia-friendly signage: "Color zones, large numbers, icons, and photos"
The city of Ghent is implementing dementia-friendly signage in its 11 local service centers to improve clarity and navigation for visitors. The first center to receive updates is De Vlaschaard, where confusing signs and high placements have been addressed. New features include color zones, large numbers, and clear icons or photos to help visitors identify rooms easily. The initiative aims to enhance independence and a welcoming atmosphere for all users. Over the next few years, this new signage system will be rolled out to other centers as well.
