Diest closes night shops earlier and sends youth workers to the streets after ongoing nuisance: "Violence and vandalism"

Diest will close all night shops at 9 PM and deploy more youth workers to address safety concerns due to rising incidents of violence and vandalism, particularly around night shops. Mayor Geert Cluckers noted that reckless behavior from youth on fatbikes and scooters has contributed to the issues. The city aims to support young people better through collaboration with youth workers and has also implemented a firework ban starting in December.
