Dignity and Justice demands the mayor of Vitoria not to provide a public center to Jardun after the arrest of its two members
The victims' group Dignidad y Justicia has urged Vitoria's mayor, Maider Etxebarria, to revoke the Aldabe civic center's lease to Jardun, which is hosting events on capitalism and imperialism. Daniel Portero, president of DyJ, highlighted that two Jardun members are in provisional detention for alleged terrorism-related offenses. He criticized the democratic institutions for providing public spaces to groups linked to past violence while investigations into potential violent practices continue. Jardun's event features speakers from revolutionary organizations in Colombia, the Philippines, and Lebanon, including Iñaki Gil de San Vicente, a former Batasuna member. Portero condemned the contradiction of honoring terrorism victims while allowing such groups to use public facilities, especially given ongoing investigations into their activities.
