Dilbeek resident launches free email service after phishing email to his mother: "Especially protect people with less digital knowledge"

Jany Ertveldt developed a free service to analyze suspicious emails after his mother received a phishing attempt. The service aims to protect individuals with limited digital knowledge from online scams. Users can forward suspicious emails to [email protected] for a quick analysis, which checks the sender, domain, links, and QR codes. The system compares emails against a database of over 600 suspicious domains, updated weekly. Privacy is prioritized, as forwarded emails are deleted after analysis. Ertveldt hopes to collaborate with the government to expand the service's reach.
