Ulrich Schreiber, director of the Lisbon Literature Days, emphasized the importance of cultural dialogue amidst political pressures affecting literary festivals. He criticized indiscriminate cultural boycotts, particularly against Israeli institutions, advocating for collaboration among festivals to strengthen their positions. Schreiber also addressed the challenges posed by financial difficulties and the rise of artificial intelligence in literary translation, urging the protection of translators' roles.
