DNS analysis revealed that Ted Bundy is also responsible for the 1974 murder of a girl from Utah
Ted Bundy has been linked to the 1974 murder of 17-year-old Melissa Ann Smith through DNA evidence. Smith disappeared in Utah, and her body was found days later. The breakthrough in the investigation came after confirming Bundy's involvement in another murder of a Utah girl, Laura Ann Aime, which he confessed to shortly before his execution. DNA extracted from Aime's body matched Bundy's profile, which also corresponded with the DNA found on Smith. Sheriff Rosie Rivera emphasized the importance of preserving evidence for decades, allowing for re-examination of cases. Bundy is known to have raped and killed at least 30 women between 1974 and 1978.
