Additional fee for packages from outside the EU. Check from when and how much you will pay

A new fee for shipments from non-EU countries to consumers in the EU has been introduced to support customs risk analysis and control. This fee, similar to temporary customs duties, will be collected by customs authorities and applies to packages valued under 150 euros. Since July, the volume of e-commerce shipments has significantly decreased, with Poland reporting a 50% drop in customs declarations. The new customs code, effective from September 20, 2023, shifts more responsibilities to sellers and online platforms for compliance with EU regulations. The aim is to enhance control over incoming goods and prevent undervaluation of shipments.
