Dead and injured in helicopter collision on Mount Everest
Two helicopters collided and crashed on Mount Everest, resulting in one fatality and two injuries. The incident occurred near Pheriche village at an altitude of 4200 meters. The deceased was a 47-year-old tourist from India, while a traveler from New Zealand and a pilot were injured. Helicopters are essential for evacuating sick or exhausted climbers, as there are no roads on the mountain. The autumn season is popular for climbing due to favorable weather conditions following the rainy season, although the trail remains busy year-round. The Nepalese government has previously attempted to limit the number of climbers without success.
