Donald Trump added to list of enemies of press freedom

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) accuses the U.S. president of misusing his power against media organizations he disapproves of. He filed a lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal over coverage related to Jeffrey Epstein and temporarily revoked access to journalists from Politico. In solidarity, other U.S. news outlets halted joint coverage of presidential events, leading to a lack of shared images from the White House. RSF ranks the U.S. 64th out of 180 in press freedom, with the Netherlands at 2nd place. This year, figures like Putin and Erdogan were also named as threats to press freedom, alongside 33 others, including Elon Musk and the Chinese Communist Party.
