Donald Tusk commented on the referendum in Częstochowa. "The president was taken out while I am the prime minister"
During his visit to Vietnam, Tusk expressed satisfaction with the referendum results in Częstochowa, where residents voted overwhelmingly to remove Mayor Matyjaszczyk. The referendum saw over 97% support for his removal, alongside the city council. Tusk noted that the public's opinion aligned with that of the prosecutor's office and the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA), which had previously charged Matyjaszczyk with corruption. He criticized right-wing politicians for potentially using future referendums as a campaign tool, emphasizing the importance of local governance. Matyjaszczyk has been unable to perform his duties for eight months due to legal restrictions, and he faces serious allegations of financial misconduct. The referendum was initiated by local activists who accused him of nepotism and mismanagement.
