Drone, brainrot or deepfake? Voting begins for the Technological Word of the Year 2026

The jury of the Technological Word of the Year 2026 contest has selected ten finalist words and phrases from submitted proposals. Starting October 20, internet users can vote for terms that best describe significant phenomena and technologies impacting the economy and society. The contest is organized by ING Hubs Poland, and the results will create a ranking of the five most important technological words of 2026. The final ten include terms like drone, brainrot, vibe-coding, and deepfake, reflecting the influence of technology on language. Voting is open until November 7, 2026, with the winner announced on November 18 at the Infoshare conference in Katowice.
