Second round of SAFE. Will Poland decide on another loan?

The European Commission has confirmed the availability of additional funds under the SAFE program, with Hungary and Italy reducing their initial borrowing plans. Member states will be informed about the available funds and can express interest in additional loans, with the second round open to all EU countries. However, interest in new loans is lower than expected, with only 6-7 countries signaling readiness, including Italy and Hungary, citing public finance issues. The Commission hopes Poland will participate, focusing on joint projects to support Ukraine's defense industry, while Poland considers its own defense needs. The deadline for project completion is set for 2030, raising concerns about the feasibility of new investments.
