German U-boat from WWII found after 82 years due to a typo

The German U-672 was discovered in August on the seabed of the Channel, about 32 kilometers off the coast of Salcombe, England. The wreck lies at a depth of approximately 70 meters. It was attacked by the British ship HMS Balfour in July 1944, prompting commander Ulf Lawaetz to order the crew to abandon ship. All 52 crew members escaped in lifeboats and survived the attack, later being rescued by passing ships and taken to a POW camp in the UK. The exact location of the U-boat was unknown for years due to a clerical error in its coordinates. Earlier this year, Gasperados also discovered a World War I ship sunk by a German submarine.
