Large carriers have pulled the market
The registration of new trucks in the EU increased by 7.5% in the first three quarters of 2026, totaling 245,079 vehicles. This growth is driven by high demand for heavy-duty trucks and a slight increase in medium-duty vehicle registrations. Poland and Spain showed the highest growth rates among major markets, while France experienced a decline. Smaller markets like Lithuania and Romania also saw significant increases, although their absolute demand remains lower than Poland's. Factors contributing to this trend include fleet replacements and extended delivery times from manufacturers. However, rising costs may impact future demand, and the used vehicle market is facing challenges due to fluctuating interest and supply issues.
