Wild boars blocked her way to the church. Residents have had enough of them

The issue of wild boars in Krakow is escalating, with 270 reports made to the city's Environmental Department from January to September 2025. This is a significant increase compared to previous years. Residents, particularly in southern Krakow, are experiencing more frequent encounters with these animals, which have caused damage to community gardens and disrupted daily life. The city is considering protective measures for green spaces and has implemented a 24-hour wildlife rescue service that conducts interventions and culls when necessary. However, the lack of national regulations complicates the management of wild boar populations, which are primarily overseen by hunting authorities. Residents are encouraged to report sightings and advised on how to behave if they encounter a wild boar.
