E-commerce giant eBay to cut 1,000 more jobs, about 9% of workforce
eBay plans to reduce its workforce by approximately 1,000 jobs, representing 9% of its total employees, as part of a strategy to align resources with key priorities. This follows an earlier layoff of 800 jobs announced in February. The company aims to support affected employees during this transition. Despite recent challenges, eBay has seen revenue growth in 2025 and acquired Depop for $1.2 billion to enhance its presence in the secondhand market. Earlier this year, GameStop attempted a takeover of eBay, which was ultimately rejected by the board.
