E17 Snack in Waasmunster disappears: parking with famous girl on billboard will be completely renovated
The E17 Snack in Waasmunster, a historic highway restaurant in Belgium, is set to be replaced as part of a major redevelopment project. XL Servicestations, a subsidiary of G&V Energy Group, has been awarded a 26-year concession to revamp the service areas along the highway, investing over 14.5 million euros. The new facilities will include electric vehicle charging stations, expanded truck parking, and modern amenities. Construction is expected to begin in 2027 and last about seven months, with the new zones opening in the second quarter of 2028. The current site has faced issues with littering and disturbances, prompting the need for upgrades to enhance safety and social control.
