eBay will cut 1,000 jobs, nearly 9% of its workforce

eBay plans to cut around 1,000 jobs, representing about 9% of its workforce, to align resources with strategic priorities. The company had 12,300 employees at the end of 2025 and previously announced a layoff of 800 jobs in February. Despite recent growth in revenue, eBay aims to maintain a strong position in the market. In July, eBay acquired the second-hand clothing platform Depop for $1.2 billion. Earlier, GameStop made an unsolicited offer to acquire eBay for $55.5 billion, which was rejected by eBay's board as unappealing.
