Economic inspection finds shortages among installers of solar panels and heat pumps

A recent inspection by the Economic Inspection revealed that over 90% of solar panel and heat pump installers were found to be in violation of regulations. Out of 145 installers checked between April 2025 and March 2026, 133 had at least one infraction. The focus was on compliance with pre-contractual information, guarantees, and documentation. Common issues included failures in providing proper consumer documents and adhering to warranty laws. Most violations resulted in warnings. However, the sector federation Bouwunie emphasized that the high violation rate may not reflect the overall quality of the industry, as many inspected companies had prior complaints, and issues were often administrative in nature.
