A popular hiking app is the first to use data on protected areas obtained by our newspaper.

A popular hiking app has integrated official boundaries of protected natural areas, obtained through a public data request by Telex. Previously, only the Kéktúra app displayed these boundaries, while other apps used outdated and incorrect data. This situation posed risks for hikers who could unknowingly enter restricted areas. Following a ruling by the data protection authority, the Ministry allowed the Hungarian Hiking Association to publish these boundaries. The Geoládák app now features the updated data, but other major hiking apps still show incorrect boundaries until they are updated on OpenStreetMap. Telex has also mapped the official boundaries for public access.
