A Budapest taxi driver tricked a passenger into paying multiple fares by entering one extra zero into the terminal.
A Budapest taxi driver scammed passengers by charging them multiple times the actual fare using a terminal error. The 46-year-old woman primarily picked up foreign passengers in the city center. She manipulated payments by entering an amount with an extra zero, resulting in inflated charges. Additionally, she swapped a 20,000 HUF note for a 2,000 HUF note during a transaction and kept a passenger's forgotten bag with a mobile phone. Investigations revealed she lacked the necessary permits for taxi services. She was arrested by police for fraud and theft, and her detention was requested.
