Egypt may enter the Middle Eastern war
On Monday, the Egyptian parliament authorized President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi to take necessary measures to support Saudi Arabia's defense. This decision does not automatically lead to military action but allows for military assistance if needed. The advance of Houthi rebels threatens the strategically important Bab el-Mandeb Strait, crucial for maritime shipping and access to the Suez Canal. The military support was backed by at least two-thirds of the parliament members. El-Sisi emphasized that Egypt would only assist in protecting Saudi territory and would not participate in attacking Yemen.
