Karácsony, Pikó and Soproni clashed after the meeting of the Association of Budapest Municipalities
Budapest's mayor, Gergely Karácsony, criticized two local mayors for leaving a meeting to speak on TV, suggesting they were not engaged in discussions. The mayors, András Pikó and Tamás Soproni, responded by accusing Karácsony of misrepresentation and criticized his proposals. They had previously called for the reorganization of the Budapest Municipalities Association (BÖSZ) and the withdrawal of certain decisions. Karácsony claimed the departing mayors missed key votes on budget increases and local governance reforms, including support for housing initiatives and local tax allocations.
