Execution in Florida. 40 years after the crime
William Reaves was executed on October 20 at Florida State Prison after being convicted of murdering Deputy Sheriff Richard Raczkoski in 1986. Over 100 veterans appealed to Governor Ron DeSantis to halt the execution, but the U.S. Supreme Court denied the last request. Florida has conducted 18 executions this year, accounting for over half of the total 32 in the U.S.
