The CGPJ renews its internal composition amid cross accusations from progressive and conservative members

The General Council of the Judiciary approved a list proposed by Carlos Hugo Preciado, highlighting internal conflicts between progressive and conservative factions. This decision promotes gender parity, with women holding 51.8% of positions in the renewed commissions. However, progressives criticized the outcome, claiming it undermines co-governance and pluralism within the Council. The Permanent Commission will include four women, with Isabel Perelló as president. Conservatives argue that disagreements arose over the inclusion of certain members, while supporters of the agreement defend Preciado's role in achieving a negotiated solution.
